Christopher Allen named the John L. Magro Resident Conductor for Cincinnati Opera

Cincinnati Opera has appointed Christopher Allen to the newly-created position of the John L. Magro Resident Conductor for Cincinnati Opera. This position will see Mr. Allen conduct one mainstage production each year in the summers of 2015, 2016, and 2017. In those years, Mr. Allen will also conduct Opera in the Park, the annual free concert in Washington Park that opens the Opera's summer season. For the 2015 season, he will conduct the world premiere of Ricky Ian Gordon and William M. Hoffman's Morning Star. Mr. Allen makes his UK debut next season conducting The Barber of Seville at the English National Opera and will debut at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City with L’elisir d’amore. He was named as a finalist for the 2015 International Opera Awards in the "newcomer" category.
